February 2024

Our February newsletter brings you an ePaper on Smash & Grab Adjudications (inc a caselaw update), lessons learnt from the Get Living judgment and the latest Ridgemont Podcast on dealing with work place stress!

Smash & Grab Adjudications

Welcome to the February edition of the Ridgemont newsletter.

We are seeing increased client activity in the construction sector in 2024 and are anticipating a busy second half of the year, as interest rates fall.

It is inevitable that this year will see more Remediation Orders and Remediation Contribution Orders under the Building Safety Act 2022.  Our Head of Construction, Tim Seal, comments on the Get Living judgment (where an Order was made for a Remediation Contribution Order of £18m) in Estates Gazette.  A link to that article is set out below.

The rise of AI is as much part of the legal sector as any other and my piece in Property Week on how AI will impact the legal sector is accessible below.

We also provide you with our latest Ridgemont Podcast, with Consultant Neonatal and Paediatric Surgeon, Nic Alexander, talking about dealing with work place stress and news on our attendance at the Society of Construction Law Annual London Lunch.

Finally, we are pleased to include, in this month’s newsletter, an ePaper on “Smash & Grab” adjudications.

If you have a current legal issue that is sitting on your desk, then please email Tim Seal on tseal@ridgemont.co or call us on 0203 909 9590.
