Five points to consider when dealing with construction contracts

This month’s Newsletter looks at five common points to consider when drafting construction contracts, highlighting: scope of work, design responsibilities, liability for ground conditions, Building Safety Act issues and limitation of liability clauses.
There is also a reminder that Ridgemont provides bespoke training to clients and contacts on subjects of widespread construction industry interest, such as the Building Safety Act 2022, standard form contract amendments, non-payment and adjudication. We find that these sessions really help our clients and contacts save money in the long run, by being better able to manage their projects and avoid disputes with the knowledge that they gain from the training. In the last few months we’ve delivered sessions to HTA Design, Walter Lilly and Hughes and Salvidge.
As always please contact Tim Seal (our Head of Construction) with any matters upon which you or your contacts need specialist construction law advice. Tim’s contact details are tseal@ridgemont.co / 0203 909 9592.
